TV show idea

Programme Format
The overall programme would last around 30 minutes including adverts which would take up around 2-3 minuets. The show would be shown on a TV channel called E4. This show would have to be a landmark to this channel as it would have to have a continuous slot every week and have high views each time. It would be aimed towards 14-20 years old so the time slot that would fit best is between 6 pm and 11 pm. Its content would be aimed for the British public so the imagery would have to be relatable such as British music videos or whats popular in British gossip. The show would be a Magazine sow which would include

  • Reviews
  • Interviews
  • Competitions
  • Music Videos
  • Guests
  • Audience Interaction

Title "Face of Music"
The reason I chose this title was because it stands out to the audience and it would be a known logo if it was seen around. The whole title itself is about the 'face of music'. This means that the music generation changes constantly and it would promote the latest music which is popular at that certain moment. It has a direct relation to what the show is about and the colours and font of it makes it stand out dramatically. It has a young urban look to it so it is something that the age range would happily take notice of as it isn't too childish or too complex looking. This is part of a logo that would represent the tv show. Face of Music is about variety and this logo would symbolize the variation there is to music.

Content ideas

Throughout the show there must be content that would satisfy the viewer. This means that the show has to be energized all the way through with different activities going on to make sure it isn't repetitive. There would be the usual music videos shown and interview, but there would also be a 'Hot or Not' section that will be related to fashion. This can be towards artists fashion and whether the presenter and/or audience would wear that fashion statement also. This is good content that would interact the audience into the show which would make them feel part so they have a say in it. Instead of just a normal interview, there would be a question section where the public can tweet into the show to ask the guest personal questions. These can be from what colour socks are they wearing today to what made them want to become what they are today. This would keep the interview interesting as some questions are laid back and comedy filled to get a positive reaction out to the audience. Having a competition in the show would also be another way to interpret the audience into the show. The competition would allow the audience to win things such as tickets to a show or gadgets. The competition that i would involve would be 'The Missing Lyric' where the participant would have to tell us what the missing lyric was. BUT! there is a twist. Whilst the participant has to figure out what the missing lyric is...... They would have to do something productive such as bouncing on a trampoline whilst having to catch a ball. This means that they would have to multitask which makes it a bit harder as they are concentrating on more than one thing as the same time.

Running Order
The running order would be paced so there are introductions to the show, events in the programme and guests that may be featured on the show. There would be two sections of the show which would be separated by adverts lasting up to two minutes.
Section 1

  • 20 second song intro - This would be the introducing song which would be a jingle that everyone would know by the end of the show. If they were to hear it again, they would know that this show is about to come on.
  • 30 second presenter introduction - This is the introduction to the whole show. It would be telling the audience what would be on in that particular show and what features there are going to be. They would also pick out and audience interactions such as quiz's and questions to ask guests.
  • 3 minute 30 second No.1 music video with intro - This would be an introduction to the number one song of the week and the artist who performed it. Once the intro has been done, the video would be shown wide screen to the audience.
  • 10 second Introduce guest - Once the music video has been played, there would be an introduction to the quest who would be on that particular show.
  • 2 minute Interview - The presenter/s would then ask a few questions to the guest about their music video. These would be questions based on the music video such as "What inspired them" or " What got you into the music industry".
  • 4 minute Question Tweets - Once the presenter has had the interview with the guest, There would be a few tweeted questions that would be asked to the guest. This would be a way of getting the audience to interact with the show to get them more interested.
Section 2
  • 10 second Introduction - This would be a brief introduction to the second part of the show to get back the audiences attention.
  • 2 minute 10 second What am I - This would be a game played between the presenter/s and the guest Just to get things livened up again. It would be a yes or no question based game which would definitely get the audiences attention.
  • 20 second Outro - This is where the presenter/s would sign off the guest from the show by thanking them for coming and wishing them luck etc. There may also be a brief commentary of when the guest is next performing or when their next song would be out.
  • 4 minute 20 second Hot or Not - This section is between the presenter/s to show the audience what the latest fashion if of the week. They would also be giving their opinion on whether they think it's hot or not which would relate to the audience as it is promoting new fashion trends.
  • 3 minute 30 second Intro and Music video - This would be a brief introduction of a new music video which has just been released and would also preview it to the audience. Once the music video has been played the presenter/s may give their opinion about it and how they may relate to it.
  • 4 minute 10 second Competition - Once the presenter/s have given their opinion on the music video, they would advertise a competition which has taken place to enable people to win tickets to the artists next performance. This competition would be "The missing lyric" where the participant would have to guess a missing lyric but whilst doing something productive to make them multitask.
  • 2 minute Winners - Once the footage has been shown of the competition in action, the presenter/s would then announce the winners. This could be via a phone call or just announcing it to the camera.
  • 30 second Outro - This would be the final part to the show where the presenter/s would then cut off the show by saying well done to the winners and maybe give a brief of what would be on next week.
  • 20 second Credits - This would be the credits of the show where you would see all of the people who have taken part from the presenter/s to the camera man. This would also have the jingle playing over it so the audience would remember it.
Visual/Presentation Style
The camera angles would mainly be focused during the interviews as you would be able to get a clear image of the persons reactions to the speech. Whilst questions are being asked there would be a mid shot so you can get body language whilst still being focused on the people. For the extra sections such as 'Hot or Not' the angles would be more close up and emphasized so that there would be more atmosphere to portray a better show towards the audience. When it comes to the pre-recorded section which would be from the 'Competition' The camera angles would be varied as it would have to fit the action to what the participant would be doing. The style of the show would be a normal layout as it would be easier to work with for recording. There would be a back drop that can have adjustable lights on it to make it stand out and there would be genuine chairs which the presenter/s and guests would sit on. I would have two presenters as it would make it easier for speech and it would make a more relaxed environment which would look good towards the audience.

This is a rough sketch of what i would like the studio to look like. There would be two long sofas which are at an angle to each other with a table in the middle. This gives the visual look of it a more relaxed and comfortable feel. The back drop would have the name of the show in big bold writing to make a statement of what the show is about. The logo would also be on the back drop to get out to the public a memorable image of the show. around the title, there would be lights to make it stand out more and be more appealing. Props may be added if they are suitable to give it a more busy view which can definitely catch the audiences attention.
